I spent a total of 6 days in New Your state and got to hang out with some great people that deserved a second post, though this one will be very short.
The weather didn’t cooperate in the evening in Marathon and as such Mike and I called it a day around 5 pm. I had to return to Syracuse once again since my furnace was once again on the fritz and I was determined to have the same dealer address the issue given they hadn’t agreed with the online tech’s assessment when they worked on it the first time. I would also have power and water and could have a nice warm evening.
Almost everywhere I go people tell me to wait a minute and the weather will change. This was very true in Syracuse where in a matter of 30 minutes the weather looked flyable to, Snow Storm and then a wonderful sunset.
The next day they once again worked on my furnace and finally replace the thermostat and sail switch which the online tech had said was the problem. So far at the time of writing this post no joy on being refunded the $150 service fee from Camping World Chichester, NH. Though the service from Kass on the day was awesome, trying to get a callback and resolution from management has been a challenge despite multiple calls – Marcus Lemonis (@marcuslemonis) I hope you are paying attention, while we are in challenging times, there is no excuse for poor service – we won’t talk about the 8 hours it took to replace 4 tires and the damaged rim.
My planned stop in Spencerport, NY sadly didn’t take place with a friend I haven’t seen in 10 years.
I pushed on and had graciously been offered a place to stop in Cheektowaga, NY just east of Buffalo in the hope we would get to fly in Hamburg.
Once again the Gang of New Your took to the air and flew to the Lake.

My day/trip didn’t end there….
Scott and I headed up to Niagra Falls where I got a personal tour and many stories about how things were there when he was growing up. The falls were amazing and being little more than a stone’s throw from Canada where I have only been once was awesome.
I had planned to make a small excursion into Canada as part of my trip, but with COVID-19 this just wasn’t going to be an option.
At the end of the day, New York state turned out to be a huge awesome experience despite everything that was going on and I can’t thank everyone enough who flew, hosted and enabled me to succeed.
Be sure to check out the Videos on YouTube in the New York playlist.
