Indiana 50xChallenge Paramotor flights

I pushed through from Monday night from West Virginia into Ohio Monday night and arrive in the early hour of Tuesday at Franklin Flying Field-3fk.

Sadly I hadn’t beat the weather and the forecast wasn’t looking good. Late afternoon, I got to meet the man I’d come to visit, Dave Halcomb the owner of Midwest PPG with more than 20 years in the industry.

Dave and I exchanged some stories before Matt arrive and went on doing what all aviation & paramotor pilots do, share many more stories and enjoy the camaraderie that makes our community.

They shared that they put together a video for the 2020 fly-ins and realized very quickly I hadn’t seen anything like it before.

Reviewing the weather became the last topic to try and co-ordinate a flight and our schedules. As expected, the snow and wind came in on Wednesday.

Waiting out the weather in Indiana
The forecast looked pretty gruesome

The weather forecast looked pretty gruesome for Wednesday and Thursday with a very small window for Thursday evening but most likely an early cold flight on Friday morning before I needed to leave to head to Kentucky.

Thursday evening came and with that a window to fly and this video of the flight which marked the official completion of the 25th state in the 50xChallenge Paramotor Tour.

Friday morning delivered perfect conditions as forecast although cold.
