Iowa – State 42

I left Illinois mid-morning and pushed the 3 or 4 hours into Iowa where I was to meet with Brant, Mike & Doug in North Liberty near Cedar Rapids.

Unfortunately, conditions didn’t shape up for us, but if you ever want to fly around Cedar Rapids, Iowa, these are the great guys to reach out to. Thanks, Brant, Mike & Doug for coming out to support the 50xChallenge.

That night I pushed on to Altoona which is just east of Des Moines arrive at Spring creek sports complex around midnight with a plant to start at 06:30.

Here Adam Krueger met me with a plan to complete some tandems and for a few other pilots to come out and take a cross country flight.

Due to a short sprinkle of rain, we decided to complete my official flight and I had the opportunity to the Vortex Aero Viper 200cc. I loved the power and smooth climb.

My trip to Iowa was incredibly quick, largely driven by the chance to fly with a bunch of people in the next state so by 10 am I was on my way heading north to Minnesota.
