Montana with Team Fly Halo

Friday morning started early and by 6 am I was on the road heading for Montana from Wyoming heading through the country side for many miles before reaching Interstate 90.

One fuel stop later and nearly 300 more miles, and I would reach Polson where I connected with Canyon Hansen and followed him the rest of the way around Flathead lake to an amazing location right on the lake.

Little more than a couple hours and we were setting up to launch.

My first flight was with the Nivuk Kougar 3 which once I got familar with the tip steering connected to the break toggle became comfortable to fly. Wing overs and some spirals later and I was having a blast over the picture perfect lake and mountains with the snow in the background.

After landing, I had the chance to fly a Scout Paramotor on my Dudek Snake 1.2 18 m. The wind direction made for a longer launch than expected, but once off the ground and thanks to 130cm prop got to feel the additional power awesome torque compensation the Scout has. It wasn’t long before I was pulling some high G’s over the lake and actually broke the seat board which was a first for me.

My day ended with a perfect sunset with a great view right on the lake.

We flew again Saturday morning and had a relaxing flight out to Lake Mary Ronan before returning to watch the guys Foil Surf again on the lake – I have to learn are to do this so I can enjoy both flight and water which are huge passion sports for me.

Heavy winds rocked the camper over night and even took out a few trees and as I was told was a little unusual. I used the time to drive up and down the lake and see more of the towns it supports.

I returned in time to begin making my arrangements for Alaska and finally wound down around midnight.

Monday brought good weather and I took to the sky around 9am with my old Velocity Nitro 27 m to give her some fresh air which she hadn’t had since Florida. At nearly 10 meters larger than my Snake 1.2 she is a big wing for me now, but it did make for an easy launch and a fun hour flight.

I spent the rest of the day editing videos and finishing up work in preparation for my travel starting in the morning.

I spent the evening with Canyon and Dan and enjoyed Whisky and some amazing stakes. Thank You for Hosting me. I had a great stay and can’t wait to do it again.
